Prof (Rev. Fr.) John O. Umoh

Prof. (Rev. Fr.) John O. Umoh, a Professor of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Uyo, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, holds Ph.D in Sociology from the South Dakota State University, South Dakota, USA. He is an ordained Priest in the Catholic Church with Pastoral experiences. Associate Professor Umoh has held research, administrative and teaching positions in University of Uyo. He is a member of South Dakota State University Association, American Sociological Association, Nigerian Sociological Association and Social Science Academy of Nigeria. He is an author of 21 articles in National and International Journals, 2 Text Books in Sociology and has featured in 5 Chapters in Books. He has also participated in several conferences, public lectures/seminars within and outside Nigeria and has presented 26 papers. Associate Professor Umoh is currently conducting a research on “The Social Impact of the Proliferation of Religious Organizations and Prayer Houses in Nigeria”.
